A city is a web of relationships. We need each other, even when we think we don't. There are different kinds of need, there are my needs and your needs. There are physical needs, emotional needs, educational needs, all of which interplay mysteriously with spiritual needs. One thing is for sure: we need each other.
City Life church interacts with a few local organizations that are geared toward making downtown Sacramento a better place for people with particular needs, especially basic physical needs. But in partnering with these organizations, by taking an hour on Friday or Sunday to volunteer, the common experience is to realize that I need the people who I pictured as needing my help.
Monday-Friday: Constant opportunities to give clients rides to medical appointments Monday-Friday.
You can join their list of volunteers and answer the call when it works for your schedule.
2nd & 4th Fridays, between 1PM-7PM: You can pick up some boxes of groceries & mapquest printouts
from the 21st & V location, and deliver the food to a few families & individuals.

Socks & Gloves for the Homeless is a grassroots team effort to help provide assistance for those who live on the streets of Sacramento. Our goal is to connect people and resources together by providing homeless folks with socks and gloves (and blankets, beanies, etc...) during the colder weather months and then additional resources during the Summer months. This effort is sponsored by local community members focused on social justice along with local business. We go out every fourth Sunday of the month to pass out socks and gloves and other supplies, and we invite you to join us in these adventures.
